Happy Monday!
I hope you’re well.
As usual I’m feeling like it’s a Monday today, which makes me think I should start writing this newsletter on a different day of the week — one where I’m not so sleepy from all the fun summer-weekend activities.
But after a little more thought, it occurred to me — this is a motivational newsletter, and when better to grab a hold of a little motivation than on a blurry-eyed Monday morning.
So here we are.
I think it’s important for me too that I start the week this way. It’s so easy to fall out of routine, and having this little ritual to begin my week keeps me focused and on track. I wake up, get the kids out of the house, and sit down to share with you. It’s an opportunity to reflect and look forward.
And of course, as always, to center.
Because the motion of life can certainly get away from us at times, and taking opportunities to pause and reset really keeps the wheel from feeling like it’s spinning out of control. That’s also why I recorded this week’s guided meditation. It’s an opportunity to stop whatever you’re doing and reset. It’s especially helpful if you’ve been staring at a computer for hours or using your creative mind. But really, it’s helpful for anyone who just needs a minute to regain their composure and begin again.
Give it a try! It’s only 5 minutes long, and I bet when you’re done you’ll feel more focused and ready to tackle the next task at hand. If you’ve got the time, I’d encourage you to stay in silence even a little bit longer. There is no set amount of time that you must meditate, but who wouldn’t benefit from a few extra minutes of rest? I certainly don’t mind hitting the snooze button in the morning. Maybe give that a try with your practice. When the timer goes off, say to the world, “Just 5 more minutes!”
The world can wait.
And you deserve it.
Well, that’s all from me today. I’ve got so much to do and only a week left of these three kid-free hours in the morning. I promise you’ll still find me in your inbox each week. Hopefully with a few new exciting things to talk about. But for now, have a great week! Get outside if you can. Enjoy it as we sail into the late-summer vibes.
Be well, my friend.
