Thinking about Dinner

My sister reminded me that I haven’t posted much about dinner lately.

It’s true. I haven’t.

I used to do it a lot. I loved sharing all the yummy meals I was preparing….

I guess I’ve sort of been neglecting dinner lately.  I’m still cooking. We have a healthy and delicious meal cooked by yours truly almost every night. They just aren’t that creative. And being the egotist that I am, I don’t want to share with you just any old meal. But perhaps I should.

Yesterday I went food shopping for the first time in a while. Since The All-Star has the car most days and I’ve been on foot, he’s been doing the food shopping. This is great, don’t get me wrong. And he’s doing an awesome job. But it does mean that I’ve been cooking with mostly staples lately. (I could probably give him a list, but that would be too easy. Usually when I shop, I come up with my menus as I go. Not exactly a time saver, but that’s how I roll.)

My shopping excursion yesterday felt really good. I was back in my element. Scoping out sales on fruits and veggies, cuts of meat and conjuring up menus. It’s fun. I love it.

I probably spent more money than I should have but now there’s plenty of food and I’m excited about the meals I’ve got planned. They still aren’t anything special but there’s lots of variety.

Perhaps I’ll share a few with you!

Speaking of money and meals, I just got a great idea for a challenge. . . .

Yes, I think I’m on to something. Stay tuned!
