Happy Monday!

My apologies for missing last week. Sometimes we don’t have the energy to show up. And that’s ok. We all deserve a break once in a while. The important thing to remember is that we can always return, no matter how long we’ve been gone – we can always return to our intentions – and to the practice – whatever that looks like for you.

I’ll remind you again of the Sharon Salzberg quote:

“The healing is in the return.”

What is the return for you today? Is it your intention? The promise you make to yourself to live a life guided by your own inner wisdom? Is it noticing your reactions and where you can make adjustments? Letting go of the judgment that comes when we fall short? Or is it simply the breath? The gentle rise and fall of your shoulders. The expansion of your chest as you draw the breath in. The pleasant pause before you let it out slowly, giving yourself permission to feel just a little bit lighter – even if it’s just for one breath.

As we have already begun this Spring season, there is so much new energy we have to contend with. Even the wind seems more active – carrying with it the chill of the Winter we’re trying to leave behind, as the sun grows stronger and brighter in the sky, holding the promise of warmer days to come. Let this season be a reminder that we too are part of the Earth, and will experience that same conjuring of energy. The call to be Yang – active and generative, while there is also within us the Yin – quiet and reflective. Perhaps this will be your Spring intention — to find the balance, and cultivate it within.

As we meditated together today during our Creating Space Within Zoom call, we drew our attention to this symbiosis of energies that resides within us. The movement of our energy and the breath, the expansion we’re cultivating. All the while letting go into the stillness – the quiet and calm reflection. Both these energies reside within us at all times. The practice is noticing and choosing the direction to go in the moment. We will continue to meet each Monday morning at 9:30 ET. I’d love to see you there! Click here to sign up for the link.

And for those of you local to my area, I’ll be hosting a Mindfulness Meditation Meet-up on April 9th at 7 pm at the Historical Society Museum in Seaford. It’s free to attend. A $5 donation to the museum is recommended. This event is open to all – it’s an opportunity to meet community and expand your practice. Register Here!

I’ll also be holding a Sound Bath Meditation on April 15th at 7pm at Fire and Ice Wellness Lounge in Wantagh. It’s a $25 commitment. Experience the powerful healing vibrations of crystal singing bowls and immerse yourself in a state of deep relaxation and rest. It will be a small group – only 8 spots available. Sign up HERE!

Well, my friend. I hope you have a beautiful week and, for those celebrating, a Happy Easter.

Bye for now!
