Happy Monday!
I hope this email finds you in good spirits.

Ask yourself, “what can I control at this moment?”
Maybe it’s just the breath.
So start there.
Notice the flow.
Intentionally inviting it in and out.
And notice the thoughts.
Perhaps they offer a bit more of a challenge.
It’s easy to say to just let them pass by – see them like clouds in the sky.
But some thoughts are persistent. They latch onto us like a kite string – the feelings it brings flapping carelessly in the wind above us. And we find ourselves tightening our grip – hanging on for dear life to something that takes nowhere.
In those moments, draw your attention to the ground instead. See that you are still firmly planted. The kite will not carry you away – it’s not something you need to hang onto anymore. Give yourself permission to let the kite go. If you find that too difficult, start by loosening your grip. Invite your muscles to soften. And notice your breath. Ignite your senses. Feel your connection to the present. Pay attention to what you know to be true at this moment.
You are here. And you are ok.
And anytime you feel the pull of that kite-string, give yourself permission to loosen your grip.
Trust that you will still be here, and you will still be ok – even without the kite.
