Monday Motivation Newsletter #122

Happy Monday!

Before we dive in today, let’s take a moment to arrive fully in the present – because joy begins here, in the now.

Pause for a moment.

Close your eyes if you feel called to do so.

Take a deep breath and simply arrive in this moment.

Wherever you are.

With whatever is happening around you and within you.

Let’s, together, be here now.

😊

How did that feel?

When we slow down and tune in, we begin to remember what excites us. What used to light us up as children. What still calls to us, waiting to be rediscovered.

It’s easy to feel like life is just happening around us – like we’re passengers on a train, waiting for the next stop, the next milestone, the next thing that brings us joy. But what if we didn’t just wait for joy to come to us? What if we created it?

When I lead meditation circles, people often ask about manifesting – how to bring more joy into their lives. I don’t believe we can simply conjure good things out of thin air. But I do believe we can create them. And it begins with reconnecting to ourselves.

When we were kids, people always asked us what we loved, what we wanted to be, what made us happy. And we surrounded ourselves with those things. If we couldn’t have them, we’d buy the poster, cut out magazine pictures, or doodle them in our notebooks. We built little vision boards without even realizing it.

But as we get older, people stop asking. And we stop asking ourselves. We trade our world of imagination for to-do lists and work calls. And while those things might be necessary, they aren’t who we are. They aren’t what make us feel alive.

So this week, instead of just focusing on what needs to get done, make space for what excites you.

Write down ten things that spark joy – things you’d love to experience, places you’d love to go, passions you want to revisit.

Then choose one and give it your attention. No matter what it is. Even if it’s something big, like traveling to Europe. Choose to take a step toward it. Research where you’d want to go. Imagine what time of year you’d visit. Start a small savings plan.

Give yourself permission to daydream and be excited. Just like you did when you were a kid.

No matter your age or situation, your life is filled with possibilities.

We always hear stories about people who were brave enough to make their dreams come true.

Why can’t that be us?

We can be brave.

We can rediscover joy.

We can create it.

And it all starts with your next pause in the present.

If you need a little help getting started, here’s a guided meditation to open your heart to possibility.
