Happy Monday! Happy Summer!

I hope you enjoyed the Solstice and the transition into another beautiful summer season.

I know not everyone loves summer. Depending on where you live, it may be uncomfortable. I think every season has its own level of discomfort. I believe it’s our job to navigate that discomfort and find the balance.

Although I’ve been living in New York again for three years now, I feel like it’s taken me that long to fully adjust to the change of seasons while still maintaining a life outdoors. Dressing, eating, RESTING appropriately throughout each season has given me what I need to feel as comfortable as I can. It seems silly but proper layering can make or break an outing for me. And that makes me think of the layers that go deeper within.

Really knowing who I am, where I’m at, and what I need throughout the day, the season, THIS EXISTENCE is so necessary for me to be as comfortable as I can.

In my journal this morning, I wrote about the seasons of my life. How I believe I’ve passed the apex of my life’s summer season and am now moving into fall. It means less expansion and more reflection, more gathering and harvesting the fruits of journey. I’m not fully there yet, but I am aware of the yin within the yang growing – and I try to focus on what I need to find the balance.

Right now I live with both my children and parents, and of course my husband who is my age. We are all in different seasons. My children in their own beautiful Spring – growing and budding, taking in all that life has to offer. My parents, on the other hand, are slowing down – reflecting on their journey and laying down stones for their future. I find myself navigating somewhere in the middle – still energetic and lively, but very aware of my need to rest and reflect.

And this is just my body. There are many layers to who I am and what I’m experiencing. Once again, the best I can do is pause and find the balance.

Those moments when we step off the gas and idle – that’s where we discover what we truly need.

So what season do you feel like you’re in? And what do you need to bring along on this part of your journey in order to feel the most comfortable and capable of continuing on?

If you’re not sure, take a moment. Close your eyes. Take a deep breath. Dive in and check in. Notice whatever comes up, and honor what you feel!

Last week I shared two guided meditations to help you if you need it. They are both an invitation and opportunity to connect with your own energy as well as align with the energy all around us – and as always, find the balance.

I hope you have a beautiful week, my friend.

Bye for now. ❤️
