Hello, hello! And Happy Monday!
How are you doing? Are you rested and rejuvenated and ready for the week ahead, or were you like me, moving swiftly through a jam-packed weekend and wishing for 5 more minutes when the alarm went off this morning. Maybe you’re somewhere in between. That’s always a decent place to be.
During this morning’s Creating Space Zoom call, we unpacked our weekend experiences and set our intentions for the week ahead. We reflected on our ongoing cultivation of skills and how through consistent practice, we can enhance our ability to utilize these tools, particularly in challenging scenarios. And we encouraged gratitude – for all the opportunities to expand our knowledge and support our holistic well-being.
The analogy of a tornado swirling within the mind emerged – which is ironic because I spent time on Saturday watching videos of waterspouts. Much like the waterspout, these whirlwinds of emotions and thoughts can pop up when we least expect them, throwing us off our course and triggering genuine fear in our bodies. Our nervous system instinctively gears into crisis mode regardless of the presence of an actual threat. Through dedicated practice, we learn not to dismiss our emotions but rather to explore them, seeking viable solutions. In this journey, we gradually assume the role of our own compassionate guides, skillfully navigating through life’s turbulence.
